Meet our new guestblogger Lena Milton

We are very excited to introduce you to Lena Milton from the U.S.A who will dive deeper into fashion and sustainability in her blogpost.

Hi Lena, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

Sure! I'm Lena Milton. I was born and raised in California, where I first fell in love with the outdoors. This grew into a deep passion for environmental conservation. After graduating from Brown University with degrees in Political Science and Environmental Science, Technology and Society, I've pursued my love of writing and conservation through my work. When I'm not writing, you can find me outside- in fact, I spent the last six months hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (in only one outfit! How's that for sustainability?).

What is your relationship with fashion and sustainability?

I use fashion as a way to tell the world who I am, and as a passionate environmentalist, I feel the need for my clothing to reflect my values of sustainable consumption. Through a more sustainable wardrobe, who I am on the inside is proudly worn on the outside. I've been thrifting and buying vintage for many years, and I am constantly learning more about exciting new trends in sustainable fashion. This can be a daunting task and it can be difficult to know where to begin. I'm learning, right along with my readers, how to make my own closet more ethically and environmentally friendly.

What can we expect from your posts?

My goal for writing is to help consumers understand the environmental and ethical challenges in everyday life so we can find viable solutions for both. With so many resources out there, it's easy to feel overwhelmed when you begin to move toward sustainable fashion. My posts aim to be informative, straightforward, and actionable. As so many people begin to move towards a more sustainable lifestyle, I want to provide them with resources on how to do so in an easy, affordable, and fulfilling way.

Where can we get to know you better?

You can find more of my environmentally-focused writing on RestrictionofHazardousSubstances.com, as well as PollutionEducation.com. You can get to know me better on my Instagram, @lena.ari.m, where you'll find content from my many outdoor adventures.
