Hello Juno Juno, welcome to A Sustainable Closet! Spill the beans about your store, what's the story?

It all started out with a big love for thrifting and flea markets as-well as fashion. To be able to get high quality pieces and cool on point trends without spending a fortune. I always wanted to keep a circular wardrobe and somehow starting a shop just came naturally with this.

Your pre-loved selection is stunning and every piece seems to have been carefully picked, how and where do you source the gems?

Thank you kindly, I source my items all over Europe but lately mostly in Italy. I found the quality to be higher there even though the pieces are more expensive. I also have the privilege to share space and work together with very talented brands as Not Too Sweet, Atelier Runmarker and House of Gobin and they all source stunning pieces for the shop as well.

What type of garment is selling the best?

It’s really different in Berlin vs. Sweden, But classics always do well in both shops, such as leather jackets, silk blouses and 501 Levis jeans.  Year 2000-pieces has been a big one lately!!

Who shops from Juno Juno?

The coolest cats in town!

Where do you find inspiration?

I find loads of inspiration from vintage archive fashion shows, Instagram, vintage fashion magazines, artists, and Peeps from the streets and clubs in Berlin.

What have been and are the major challenges of starting Juno Juno and may we ask if this is your full-time job?

A challenge is always keeping high-quality items in both shops, as there is always a limited amount of vintage and you never know what you will find when you source. I handpick everything and I only want to sell pieces I adore. It makes the findings less and this is the most time-consuming part but I love it. It has been my full-time job now since approximately three years back. I also do music and that takes a part of my time so it’s a mix.

What has been and is the largest gain?

Seeing the shops become more busy and getting good feedback from the costumers. It really means a lot.

What do you think needs to change in the fashion industry to make it more sustainable?

I think we will need to pay more for the clothes we buy and extend their life in our closets. And obviously secondhand before new garments.

What's up next, do you have anything fun to share with our readers?

It has been busy lately opening up the Gothenburg shop together with colleague Olof Runmarker (Who has his own brand Atelier Runmarker and sources for Juno Juno in Gothenburg ). So now we are just focusing on finding great pieces for the shop. The dream would be to open another shop in Stockholm or Copenhagen as well. We will see what the future holds.
