Reykjavík

Meet Sara Sigríður Ólafsdóttir, the Marketing & E-Commerce Assistant at London-based fashion brand Rejina Pyo.

What should one not miss in Reykjavík?

The swimming pools are one of my favourite things about Iceland. The best ones in my opinion that are central are Sundhöllin & Vesturbæjarlaug. It’s perfect to go to a cafe after soaking in the hot tub and sauna. My favourites are Plantan Kaffihus, an amazing vegan cafe that just opened recently. Then Kaktus Espresso Bar and Kaffi Vest are also super nice.

We also have some great restaurants in Reykjavik and it’s very easy to be vegan in Iceland. My favourites are The Coocoos Nest, Hosiló, Mat Bar & Sumac.

Second Hand and Vintage

Hertex

A thrifting store with several locations in Iceland.

Hringekjan

In recent years it has become very popular to re-sell your clothes and this is one of the stores that provide that service for you.

Verzlanahöllin

Another re-sell store where you can rent out a booth for x amount of time and sell your pre-loved clothing.

Spúútnik

A favourite that has a well-curated store but can still find special and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Rauði Krossinn

The best place to go thrift shopping in Iceland. They have a couple of different locations but a favourite is the one in Laugavegur.
