Sustainable Shopping: Milan

Known as the city of fashion, but also for its rich food culture, museums and nightlife. Milan is a fun and vibrant city and a place where fashion people keep coming back too, season after season. And as a matter of fact Milan Fashion Week isn’t far away, in three weeks the first of the two annual fashion weeks take place. Walking around on Milan’s streets during MFW is a true bliss where style inspiration is being caught at every corner. The magical creations being shown at the runways don’t always suit the wallet neither being nice to the planet. But, believe us, there is great sustainable fashion to be found in this trendy city. Let us guide you through our best vintage and secondhand stores and some hidden gems perhaps.

Bivio Milano

Via Gian Giacomo Mora 4, Via Gian Giacomo Mora 14, Via Lambro 12

With its unique “resale” formula, BIVIO acquires its inventory from private sellers, who book appointments to bring in their closet gems. Every time we visit Bivo there is a wide selection of great pre-loved goods. You may find stylish pieces from “the chains” to high and luxury fashion which makes the BIVIO concept suitable for everyone! Definitely one of our best go to’s in Milan. And oh, they have three stores, we can assure you they’re all worth checking out.

Humana Vintage

Via de Amicis 43, Via Vigevano 32

Another great spot for pre-loved fashion. Especially the one in Via de Amicis. They offer a great collection of exclusive vintage pieces, coats and denim. Worth adding, the staff is very helpful and friendly here. Visiting Humana Vintage is fun!

Indaco

Via San Gregorio, 11

A Super nice Second Hand store, located in an area with good shopping, bars and restaurants. At Indaco you’ll find carefully selected and unique pieces to update your closet with. Never have we found such cool Levi’s jeans like there, light yellow, dusty pink, you name it. It’s hard to come out from Indaco empty handed.

Cavalli e Nastri

Via Gian Giacomo Mora, 3

Cavalli e Nastri is one of the most celebrated vintage stores in Milan. It is known for its unique selection of vintage clothing and accessories from 1920 to 1990, as well as a place to seek inspiration for stylists, photographers and media. The atmosphere is mysterious and intimate, it almost seems to be at the beginning of the century. Cavalli e Nastri is definitely for the bigger wallet since they’re offering luxury and high end pieces. However the size of your wallet, this place is definitely worth a visit.
